Non-binary (also nonbinary and non binary) is an umbrella term for gender identities outside the traditional gender binary classification of female and male. It is also an identity it its own right.
People with non-binary genders may identify with both of the binary genders, (e.g., bigender,) with variances between different binary and non-binary genders (e.g. genderfluid), with neither (e.g., agender, neutrois), with a third gender (e.g., hijra, calabai, calalai, two-spirit), with the identity and umbrella genderqueer, with a combination, or they may not identify with any label other than non-binary.
